The Indianapolis Colts shared their first-team reps Thursday during organized team activities between first-round rookie running backs Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew. There's a reason the Colts drafted Richardson at No. 4 this year. They believe he could be the future of the franchise in the most important spot on the football field, but that could take time. Ideally, the 21-year-old would be ready by Week 1 of his first NFL season, but that may not happen. When they think they need a little more flavor, they opt for Minshew, who has more experience. Richardson is a physical monster, but it takes more than that to succeed at the highest level. Consider a talented rookie a much better dynasty/caretaker investment in 2023 than in reimagined fantasy leagues.

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (knee) was on hand, suiting up and participating in a team tour during organized team activities Thursday. "He's working in a limited capacity," head coach Sean Payton said. The Broncos have been slow to start Williams, but it's a good sign he's already doing something this early in the offseason. The 23-year-old has progressed well after suffering an ACL and tearing his ACL in Week 4 last year, but there's still no guarantee he'll be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. Even if Williams is ready to open the season, Samaje Perine is expected to take on a bigger role early in the year. Williams has already shown flashes of being an RB1 fantasy running back, but injury concerns will see his ADP drop to that of an RB2 this fall.

The Athletic's Dan Duggan writes that New York Giants rookie Jalin Hyatt, taken in the third round (73rd overall) of this year's draft, may struggle to find a big role in the offense due to a crowded receiving room and the need to develop his all-around skills . However, the 21-year-old should be seen as a major threat from day one. Hyatt will likely have sporadic results in his first NFL season, but he will get a big boost if he takes his great playmaking skills to the next level. . Darius Slayton and Isaiah Hodgins are the favorites to start outside linebacker for the Giants in 2023, so it's likely Hyatt will need an injury to either of them to see consistent minutes.

Saquon Barkley is the team's undisputed leader, and Matt Breida is expected to be his primary backup again in 2023. But rookie Eric Gray, a fifth-round pick (172nd overall) this year, should replace Gary Brightwell. for track number 3 this year. Obviously, Gray has limited options in that role barring injuries on the depth chart, so it's unlikely he'll be very productive in his rookie season. However, the 23-year-old Oklahoma product will have the potential for a bigger role in the future as Barkley and Breida progress, making him a worthy late-round midfielder in deeper dynasty/goalie fantasy drafts.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts (knee) and running backs Cordarrelle Patterson and Caleb Huntley (Achilles) did not participate in organized team activities this week. Pitts and Huntley will be safe from major injuries in 2022. Pitts suffered a torn MCL last year but is expected to be ready for training camp this summer. The 22-year-old gained 1,000 yards in his rookie year in 2021 before collecting 28 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns in just 10 starts in 2022 due to a knee injury. At worst, Pitts should be considered a mid-range TE1 in fantasy, and he has the potential to break through in 2023 when new starting quarterback Desmond Ridder takes the next step in his second NFL season. Huntley, meanwhile, is expected to open the year on Injured Reserve.

Atlanta Falcons running back Desmond Ridder's accuracy was questionable after Wednesday's practice in organized team activities, but as Josh Kendall of The Athletic pointed out, it's still very early in the offseason. Knight's strength coming over from Cincinnati was his accuracy, so he's definitely something to keep an eye on as he enters his second NFL season. "He's still young. He's going to have growing pains," Falcons starting linebacker Calais Campbell said. Knight ranked 26th in 2022 in completion percentage (63.5%) among QBs with 100+ pass attempts. The 23-year-old took over as the starting QB this offseason. Knight has clear upside, but must be drafted in fantasy as a QB2.

Dynasty analysis: Firkser, once a regular sleeper at Tennessee, never managed to post more than 39 receptions or 400 yards in any of his seasons with the Titans or Falcons. For Dynasty owners who were hoping he might be around in the first season, this will throw some water on that idea, as New England has seemingly become a land where tight ends are losing all semblance of fantasy relevance. Firkser is not ranked and this move will not change that.

Los Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) will sit out organized team activities this week as he recovers from left foot surgery he underwent in March after signing with the team, according to head coach Josh McDaniels. The timeline for Garoppolo's recovery from surgery is unknown. He was initially injured on December 6 last year and did not play another game. The feeling is that the Raiders are not concerned about the 31-year-old being ready for the start of the 2023 season in September. Injuries have become a problem for Jimmy G. Since becoming the 49ers' starter in 2017, he has missed 31 regular season games and been injured for three seasons. Garoppolo is now missing key practices as he tries to learn the team's offense and develop chemistry with the receivers. Worrying only about injuries makes Garoppolo a low-cost QB2 in fantasy.

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard (ankle, foot) was able to participate in team activities at a reduced rate this week, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Pollard suffered a broken fibula in the Jan. 22 playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers and continues to work to regain his strength. The 26-year-old also underwent wire-walking surgery for a sprained left ankle, so his recovery will be something to watch during training this summer. Barring any setbacks, he should be ready for Week 1 as Dallas' first running back since exploding in 2022 with his first 1,000-yard rushing season and 12 total touchdowns in 16 regular-season games. As long as he's healthy, Pollard has the RB1 fantasy turned upside down in 2023.

The 25-year-old's fantasy value took a big hit when the Niners acquired him in 2013. He was traded for Christian McCaffrey in 2022, but Mitchell remained productive throughout the game, averaging 6.2 yards per carry. Mitchell will need to avoid injury to stay on the fantasy radar, but even with CMC carrying the brunt of the load, at least one late round run as a wife in San Francisco's backfield will be worth it.

The Houston Texans selected free agent wide receiver Preston Williams on Wednesday, according to a league source. Williams is a great athletic target on the field at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, having previously spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers. Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been in great shape this offseason, and head coach Andy Reid noted that he looked fast and strong during OTAs this week. Edwards-Helaire caught a touchdown down the left sideline from running back Patrick Mahomes in a 7-on-7 practice on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is making an early appearance in the offseason with Isiah Pacheco (arm, shoulder) sidelined. The former 2020 first-round pick has been a bust for the Chiefs and is effectively buried on the depth chart in KC heading into the 2023 season behind Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon, but he seems motivated. Right now, it's hard for him to justify being drafted in standard leagues.

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free agent tight end Brandon McManus to an undisclosed deal on Thursday, the team announced. In a similar move, the Jaguars waived punter Riley Patterson.
